Marja-Leena, this one has a calming effect. Serene strength. A bridge over beautiful water.

I couldn't help spotting the water access cover. A compilation after my own heart.

Rouchswalwe, thanks, you always say the nicest things!

Joe, we do both like the same things. That was featured in a couple of prints in the London Underfoot series, as some readers may recall.

This gallery gives a sense of the uniqueness of your vision--and its power. "Serene strength"-- I think Rouchswalwe described the feeling you create just right.

Patry, thanks so much for your kind words and for stopping by. It's really heartening to have this kind of acknowledgment of one's work and from such an accomplished writer.

Beautiful work Marja-leena!

Jackie, thanks! Wonderful to 'see' you again!

I absolutely love this series, I think it's the boldness, with the black ground and the strong verticals, and the discrete way the motifs hang in space.

It's quite a departure for you, I think, quite different from things you've done before?

Lucy, thanks so much, I'm pleased you love these. Yes, these are something of a departure for me. As I commented at Fragments II, my many scanning experiments of the past few years, the use of the black background and the finding of these strips of corroded metal came together to inspire these pieces, while still referencing certain motifs from past works.

It's so exciting when this happens, yet I feel it's an ongoing development in my work, and in many artists' work. Sometimes the development is gradual and sometimes there's a bigger jump - perhaps these three are the latter. I don't like to stay in place, I like to discover new approaches. Yet they are all still connected, I think.

Dramatic--has a bit of a "portal" quality to me.

Marly, glad you like, and you see something of a "portal".
