Wonderful scent of rain in summer
Gentle and warm, first in two weeks

Fabulous photos!

Thanks, Jean. It helps when one finds a good subject to inspire some photography, eh!

the textures are great, though the cobwebs make me a little uncomfortable!

Photographing such richly textured, relatively monochromatic stuff is harder than it might seem. You've done these intriguing micro-landscapes justice.

Lucy, I don't much like spiders and cobwebs either, especially in the house, but this one's outside and I found it an interesting contrast to the odd growths on chunks of what used to be our old and diseased apple tree. The top fungus(?) is particulary odd.

MB, thank you. I'm quite pleased at how these turned out. The light conditions were just right.

I thought the bottom one was chocolate frosting when I first saw it. Shows you where my mind's at! Lovely. I can see why you'd be thinking of standing in the rain in your bathing suit in that heat and after all that work.

Chocolate logs, Leslee! That is funny! Thanks for my morning chuckle. I'm not so thralled with the rain anymore becaise it's not so warm and gentle anymore. It's been raining all week. One extreme to the other, hmmph.

I thought you had found the resting place of a deceased rhino. Strange what one sees at first glance.

Anna - indeed it's strange, and very fascinating for me! Though I've never seen a deceased rhino close up - have you?
