Anna, believe me this crow was very alive, and fairly tame as it let me get close for this shot. Funny though how many meanings we can find in this picture.

Yes, from Edgar Allan Poe's longer poem, The Raven. The narrator in the poem is stared at by a raven that appears on a dreary night; the narrator, who sounds clinically depressed, muses desperately on the dark meaning of the bird's appearance. The raven responds periodically, with the words, "Nevermore!"
