In spite of an unusual-for-us cold snap and biting winds of early winter, there are still leaves on many trees, such as these Japanese maples.

amazing. looks like you might have a very different winter from last year. i was grateful after the previous year's nonstop snow, but a little bit of cold is nice! x
I feel like a baby lying in my pram, looking up at the leaves...
Elisa, it shall be interesting to see what La Nina will do to the Pacific Northwest, will it be wetter and stormier than usual? Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands have had the worst storms this time around. Will we get much snow tonight as forecast? As you know there are so many microclimates around here.
Firebird, exactly the feeling I had taking these photos!
It was funny reading Firebird's comment because I felt the same way too. There's nothing left on the trees and bushes at this end now. They even closed the Public Garden ten days ago.
Crow, it's odd to see leaves on the trees with snow on them today!
