Hmm, left by water... reminds me of the bottom of the tidal river in NH we used to walk on at low tide - hard, wet ridges under your feet, cold and salty. Smell of sea air. But it also reminds me of ribs, bark, mountains seen from the air...

I see a human figure in motion.

Yes, I can see what Dave means. This looks simple, and gets more complex and allusive the more you look at it. Terrific.

It reminds me of ancient Egyptian paintings or medieval tableau sculptures.

Thanks everyone! I see all those things, except the elephant hide, heh. Mountain ridges become a row of figures in a Greco-Roman frieze. Oh! That made me recall a monoprint I did years ago: A Greek Chorus. What fun this post turned out to be, thanks to your interesting responses. Amazing what patterns in the sand can evoke.
