sunrise

Nature in her gaudiest dress made a sudden dramatic though brief appearance on the world's stage this morning. Hastily snapped between 7:48 and 7:55 a.m. at the front door as I was leaving the house and then standing at the bus stop...
Nor dim nor red, like God's own head,
The glorious Sun uprist.
Samuel Taylor Coleridge, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

I can feel the movement in these.

Julia, it was a fabulous reward for having gotten up early!
R, this all lasted maybe 10 to 15 minutes, so yes, the movement of the sun and a little of the clouds...

We saw it too, here on Lummi. We looked at the woods to the west and they looked orangy pink, then looked east, at the sunrise. Amazing.
Great pics!

Anne, that's so exciting to think we saw the same sunrise!
Cathy, yes! I couldn't believe my eyes as I was just rushing to get out of the house and catch the bus. Had to grab the camera!

It's beautiful, and just like the one I captured the morning of The Great Blizzard that turned the UK into a frozen isle

Mouse, I remember that! Amazing that it was followed by such a blizzard, not just in the UK but other parts of Europe. Beautiful but beastly for travel, isn't it?
