This one pulls me in immediately. I like the movement, the ambiguous menace/closeness between the figures, the evocation of rock, and baskets and of all the associations arising. It feels like a very mythical place.
These remind me so much of cocoons...

Dave, cocoons are another "wrapping', aren't they? The Veils Suite is very much about wrapped figures and the connotations regarding that. The figures are human but certainly can evoke other forms. The insect cocoon that emerges into a beautiful butterfly is an excellent metaphor for a release from constraints or gaining the freedom of expression, equality, human rights...
