O Christmas Tree…. December 2016
After a very wet October and November with long dark days, the three snow storms of December cheered us greatly with brightness and beauty, even at night with the Supermoon and Christmas lights coming up in the neighbourhood. Most of it has melted or washed away by some rain except for patches here and there. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve which we Finns and Germans traditionally celebrate with a feast and gift exchanges.
My dear readers may be as delighted as I am by this: Doe, A Deer, A Female Deer: The Spirit of Mother Christmas. Thanks to daughter Erika for passing it on.
I send my warmest wishes of the season to all my readers with a huge thank you for your friendship.

And all the best to you and your family.
Thank you, Tom, for the wishes and your friendship.
Dear Marja-Leena,
Your photographs reflect the beauty and wisdom of your heart. I wish you and your family all the very best of the holiday season.. and an early, flower strewn Spring!
♡ Susan
Susan, such sweet kind words, thank you. I am enjoying having this touch of a white Christmas… another snowfall last night, only on the mountains but so glorious in the sunshine. I am not in a hurry for spring…. yet.
The sunrise through your wreath has a sepia feel to it – a lovely simplicity. Delightful photos. We too have no snow; more than that we are expecting unseasonal warmth! What higgledy-piggledy times we are living in!
Thank you for the link – what an interesting article.
Wishing you the festive season you desire.
Thank you, Olga. I must finish the baking and dinner preparations for this evening. It will be sweet and simple this year with only one daughter home.
Maria-Leena, I always enjoy hearing from you and admiring your photos–and your continuing blogging spirit. Less cold here in Portland, Oregon, but heading to Seattle tomorrow, so anything possible! Have a peaceful season–with hopes for more light around the world in the coming year. -naomi
Thanks, Naomi, especially as I have been a very lazy blogger. IT is a beautiful sunny day here. Hope you are not getting the next snowstorm predicted for tomorrow. Our eldest daughter is hoping to come down but the Coquihalla Hwy can be treacherous. Fingers crossed!
These are beautiful, Marja-Leena! Thank you.
Thank you, Mirabilis, lovely to have you visit! Hope you are having a beautiful sunny Christmas Day.
I have been trying to comment several times on your blog over the past couple of weeks but it thinks I am a spammer.
Lovely pictures, happy Christmas to you and yours!
I’m glad you liked these, Lucy. We had a bit more snow today but it mostly melted as we are close to sea level. Waiting for eldest daughter’s arrival from the interior, through some snowfalls. Hope your Christmas was calm and bright.
I love your photos and the link to all that fascinating material about the Mother Goddess, all new information to me.
Best to you this holiday season and in the New Year!
Aloha,
Marianna
Thank you, Marianna! That site is indeed fascinating though I still haven’t finished reading it all, as well as exploring the rest of her blog. Oh, and did I ever tell you how I love reindeer, maybe I have a bit of Sami blood in me? Happy New Year to you and Terry!
I’ve only just caught up with this post, having been preoccupied with the arrival of family over Christmas. I always enjoy your posts with their beautiful photos and this one is no exception. I was also charmed by the link – something to pass onto my eldest granddaughter who will be fascinated.
All good wishes for a peaceful and creative 2017.
Margaret, thanks so much for your kind words, good wishes and for visiting. I know how busy these holidays are with family coming and going. All good wishes to you and yours.
And Happy New Year to everybody! Year 2017 is now 1 hour old in Finland.
Hauskaa Uutta Vuotta! Toivon kaikkea hyvää!
